Who operates Tipu

Tipu is operated by Caleb Alexander Rhodes Kendall, trading as ARMEDIA, a New Zealand sole trader. Contact [email protected]. ARMEDIA is not GST registered. Prices are in New Zealand dollars; GST is not added.

Accounts and care

Use Tipu only for households you are authorised to manage, and keep your sign-in details private. Check your plants and soil before acting on a reminder. Care schedules suggest when to check a plant; they do not measure soil moisture or guarantee plant health. An NFC tag opens a care link and does not contain a moisture sensor.

Free includes up to three active plants and one AI photo trial per household when the plant doctor is available. Tipu Home includes up to 50 active plants in one household, one active sitter pass and five AI photo checks per UTC calendar month. The UTC reset is currently used by the service; local NZ monthly resets are not implemented. A check that reaches the AI provider may count even if the result fails; contact support if you need an allowance correction. No unused allowance carries forward.

Prices, renewal and cancellation

Tipu Home costs NZ$2.49 per month or NZ$19.99 per year. The amount and renewal interval appear in Stripe Checkout before purchase. The subscription renews automatically until cancelled. Cancel in Account → Manage billing before your next renewal. Cancellation stops renewal at the end of the paid period, and paid access continues until that period ends.

After paid access ends, existing plant records and care history remain available. Adding or restoring plants is restricted to the Free allowance. Returning to Free does not automatically delete your plants. Tags are sold separately and physical tag sales are not open at this launch.

Refunds and service problems

Cancellation alone does not automatically refund an already paid period. Email support about duplicate charges, billing mistakes, outages or faulty service. We will assess the problem and provide the remedy required by New Zealand law, which may include fixing the service, a refund or other applicable remedy. These terms do not exclude rights under the Consumer Guarantees Act or other rights that cannot lawfully be excluded. There is no blanket no-refunds rule, and third-party outages do not remove your statutory rights.

AI guidance

AI identification and health guidance can be wrong or incomplete. Photos alone cannot reliably establish soil moisture, root health or the cause of a disease. Confirm the species and actual growing conditions before acting. Tipu does not guarantee recovery, pet safety or suitability of a treatment. AI assessments do not automatically change care schedules. Use the feature only with photos and text you are entitled to provide.

Sitters and household access

Share a sitter pass only with someone you trust. A sitter can see the household's plant-care information and record care within the allowed dates. The pass gives no billing, owner-account or AI-assessment access. The owner can revoke it; it expires at its stated end. Do not put alarms, entry codes or other sensitive household details in plant names, locations or care notes.

Availability, changes and complaints

The launch app requires an internet connection for household updates. Offline writes, push reminders, a photo journal and additional member invitations are not promised in this version. We will give reasonable notice of material paid-service or price changes and explain how to cancel before a changed price takes effect. Contact [email protected] for complaints, account closure and refund requests. Your consumer rights remain unaffected.
