01 / Your first five minutes
Make yourself at home.
01 / Start your account
Open tipu.kiwi/signup. Create an account and verify your email using the link in your inbox. Check junk mail if it does not arrive. Sign in and create your household.
02 / Add your first plant
Choose Add a plant. Enter its nickname, species, room, pot size, pot material, mix, light and room conditions. Add the last watering date if you know it. You can edit the setup later.
03 / Make care a small ritual
Open Today to see plants due for a soil check. Follow each plant's guidance. Choose Dry · watered only after watering, or Still damp if watering can wait. Tipu records the action and updates the next check.
02 / Link and use your NFC tag
One plant. One little tap.
01 / Get the right plant link
Open All plants, select the plant, choose NFC tag and then Show plant link. Copy that exact link. It identifies the plant without revealing its internal database ID.
02 / Link the physical tag
The first kits are linked with Tipu support. Email [email protected] once your plants are set up; we will help arrange linking. There is no in-app NFC writer yet. If writing it yourself, save the copied plant link as a URL record in your NFC writing app, then read it back and test before locking the tag.
03 / Hang, tap and open
Hang the droplet by its matching plant using the string hole. Hold a compatible phone near the tag, move it slowly to find the reading spot, then open the phone's link prompt. Sign in as the owner or use a valid sitter pass if asked.
03 / Switch on your reminders
A gentle nudge.
iPhone / Add Tipu to Home Screen
Open tipu.kiwi in Safari. Use Share (or the page menu), then Add to Home Screen. If shown, leave Open as Web App enabled. Open Tipu from its new icon. Phone reminders require iOS 16.4 or later and permission.
Android / Use a supported browser
Open Tipu in a browser with notification support. Use its Install app or Add to Home screen option if offered. Sign in and open Reminders. Browser options vary by phone.
Set your daily check-in
Choose Reminders, set your daily time and time zone, then Enable phone reminders. Allow notifications and use Send a test notification. Save your preferences. Email reminders are another option using your verified email address.
04 / Sitter access, photos and help
Care while you are away.
Give your sitter a temporary pass
Open Sitter access. Enter the sitter label, first day and last day, then Create sitter pass. Copy the link, QR or ten-digit code when it appears. Share it privately with your chosen sitter. Dates include the last day in New Zealand time. Revoke access early from the same page if needed.
What your sitter can do
Your sitter sees the household care dashboard and can record care jobs during the allowed dates. They cannot manage billing or owner settings. The NFC link alone does not grant access. No pass? Ask the owner; do not create a second owner account for the visit.
Use the plant doctor thoughtfully
Open a plant, then Plant doctor. Choose a clear JPEG, PNG or WebP under 2 MB, add notes and consent before sending it. Avoid people and private details. AI offers possible explanations; it can be wrong and does not automatically change your care schedule.
